“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

Something about October brings out the Anne Shirley in me, so I often find myself revisiting Anne of Green Gables (both the books and the original Canadian mini-series from 1985) around this time of year (even though, in some ways, it’s more a summer story to me), and always, always, I find in it all the same wonderful things I always did.

So, just wanted to send a quick prayer of thanks out into the world for Canadian queens Lucy Maud Montgomery and Megan Follows for bringing such magic into my life. In what so often these days seems such a transient, rapidly changing world, it’ s comforting to be reminded that some things are eternal. And the timeless, nostalgic delight of returning to the world of Green Gables and Avonlea is one of them.

I, too, am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. And so glad I live in a world where there are such writers as LMM, and such stories Anne of Green Gables, and such places as Prince Edward Island to inspire them.

xx
